Such a pretty girl...
After seeing a truly disheartening scene this phrase came to mind. She’s such a pretty girl, what’s she doing here. Almost immediately I took it back. What does her beauty have to do with anything? Would it be more acceptable for her to be in this predicament if according to society she was uglier? Of course not. this young lady should not be in this situation because no one should have to experience that. And I don’t know whether it was a dumb decision on her part or exactly what her history is, but I do know that what I saw was not OK. Not for a pretty girl, not for a ugly, short, tall, smart, or silly girl.
When we see a pretty girl in a bad situation, we have so much more pity because we feel like she has so much potential. Why? Beauty shouldn’t be that influential. We need to look past a woman’s beauty and see her worth. We should be upset because a young girl is taking the wrong turns in life and no one is helping.
Why aren’t we helping!
