My name is Rocío and I am a Brooklyn born Dominican woman. A self-proclaimed introvert and professional observer. In my time on this earth I've learned about love, religion, communication, friendship, and patience, all in the context of being Latina. There's a lot we don't discuss, things we've been taught to keep in the dark, or to be ashamed of. It's about time we deal with our emotions in a real way. Latina Point is where I take my first steps towards that mission, and set an example for other women. It is where I pay tribute to the women before me, and where I share my hope and faith in the generation of women after me.  

Mi nombre es Rocío y soy una mujer Dominicana nacida en Brooklyn. Una auto-proclamada introvertida y observadora profesional. En mi tiempo en esta tierra he aprendido sobre el amor, la religión, comunicación, amistad y paciencia, todo en el contexto de ser Latina. Hay temas que no discutimos, que nos han enseñado a mantener en la oscuridad. Es hora de enfrentar nuestras emociones. Latina Point es la plataforma que yo usare para dar mis primeros pasos hacia esa misión, y ser un ejemplo para otras mujeres. Es donde rindo homenaje a las mujeres que vinieron antes que yo, y donde comparto mi esperanza y fe en la generación de mujeres que vienien después de mí.
