2018

January 05, 2018 by Rocio Cuevas

Congratulations you've made it through Week 1 of 2018. Did you break your resolution? Maybe you ate that french fry, let your pettiness overwhelm you, swipe that credit card, not protect your peace? Well I have some good news, this is not an indication of how the next 12 months will look like for you. It does not mean whatever goal you had is too lofty, or not meant for you. You have not failed. You're still here, time is still passing, and as long as that's the case you have an opportunity to try again.

It is easy to get stuck in an all or nothing mentality. We think we have to consistently follow a plan or else it's not even worth finishing. We have an off day or week, and feel all progress up to that point has been erased. You gotta start over and "do it right." Not true. Your setbacks do not stain the final product. Accomplishments do not have to be spotless to be real. You had a few screw ups already? Balance those suckers out by pushing through and getting to that finish line.

Let's make 2018 the year of forgiveness. Forgive yourself for the moments of weakness, and pat yourself on the back for all the small decisions you make every day that get you closer to your goals.

There is always time to reset, this is not the end.
