Kind moments on the A train

Today two kids came into the train and started selling candy so they can stay off the streets. The man next to me bought one pack of gummy bears or something like that. I thought that was pretty nice of him. He’s a grown man with a gym bag on him, he clearly wasn’t a candy type of guy. But what really got me all warm inside was that he gave the candy to the women sitting across from us. She had her 3 year old son on her lap and her 5 year old daughter sitting next to her.

The kids were super excited about the candy and the mom was shocked at his random act of kindness. He smiled at the kids and they smiled back and then he got off the train.

Sometimes I really hate this train, with all the crummy people I always encounter. However it’s days like these that make me appreciate it more. I thought about this the whole day.
