My babies are growing up so fast...

At my church there’s a ten year old boy that plays the drums during the time everyone is singing and hugging each other. However, it was woman’s day so his little sister was playing instead. She’s 9 years old and has NEVER played the drums before, atleast not in front of us. So she BLOWS EVERYONE AWAY! While everyone is still hugging and singing I go up to her brother and say “Good job man you taught her well!” He says “apparently not, she’s messed up a few times.” lol typical answer I thought…big bro has some pride issues. So I point out it’s her first time and suggest he should congratulate her when she finishes.

Well she finishes playing and as she walks to her seat everyone is applauding, because she was AWESOME! Then what do you know, her brother gives her a light punch on the shoulder, smiles and says “you were good!”

I almost teared up! It was like watching my brother and I.

When the service was over I made sure to go up to her and hug her and tell her how awesome she was (she also read the bible…in spanish…in front of the entire congregation..o YEA) and then I went up to her brother and let him know I saw his compliment and I thought he was a cool big bro. He smiled all cool-like and shrugged me off but I noticed he kept smiling after I walked away.

MY POINT!!! I love when I see kindness, growth, and bonding in children and that’s probably why I keep leaning towards becoming a teacher.

Although those two get on my nerves sometimes, they tend to greet me with a smile every Sunday and they NEVER forget to give me a big hug. I love them so much and I’m so proud of how they are growing up.
