I really don’t like the phrase “______ is easy.” Not the phrase “_____is easy to me”, that’s different. Just that it’s easy. I especially dislike this phrase when it’s said right after I finished saying that that _____ is difficult for me. If you really think about it this person just called you an idiot. Anyone who finds ___ difficult must be an idiot, since it’s so easy.
Because something is easy for you doesn’t mean it should be easy for me. Not only is this a stupid phrase but it also kills the conversation. If you would have said its easy for ME. I would have asked why. Maybe you have a strategy you use that makes the topic easier to understand or the action easier to do. Or maybe you have a tutor or coach that helps you do this task. However, because you didn’t say that, because you pretty much just called me stupid I don’t want to talk to you. In fact I’m probably trying not to curse you out.
I’ll admit I’ve said this before. Not often but I have said it. I’m not saying that saying this is evil. But for the people that tend to find everything easy, and to be for some reason experts at just about everything, this blog is for you…stupid.
